All events happen at the Downtown roastery unless noted. Space is limited — reserve through our contact page.
Saturday Cupping Sessions
Every Saturday, – · Free
Mara runs a public cupping of whatever green coffee we’re currently evaluating from our farm partners. No experience needed, and you’ll taste coffee that hasn’t made it to the shop yet. Most weeks it’s three to four coffees side by side, scored on a shared sheet so first-timers can see how their palate compares to staff.
Home Brewing 101
First Tuesday of the month, · $20, includes a bag of coffee to take home
A two-hour hands-on class covering grind size, water temperature, and ratios for pour-over, French press, and AeroPress. Most people leave and buy the gear from our equipment shop the same week. If you brew at home and it never tastes like it does at the café, this class is almost always the fix — see our water chemistry article for the science behind why.
Latte Art Throwdown
Last Friday of the month, · Free to watch, $10 to compete
A friendly head-to-head pour-off between staff and regulars, judged on symmetry and contrast by whoever’s willing to be a judge that night. If you want to practice first, start with our beginner’s guide to the rosetta in the Journal — most winners started there.
Roastery Tours
By appointment, Downtown location only · Free
A 30-minute walk-through of the roaster, green coffee storage, and quality control setup. Popular with prospective wholesale partners and school groups alike. Book at least a week out — Mara likes to schedule tours around a live roast so there’s actually something happening.
